Effective immediately, Deutsche Post World Net has split its Logistics division into two operating units, and will also reintegrate DHL Global Mail into the group’s Mail division.

The Logistics division will now be represented by two members on the executive board.

Before being named chairman & CEO of DPWN, Frank Appel was in charge of the Logistics corporate division.

Jürgen Höfling, CEO of Global Mail, will report directly to Jürgen Gerdes, who is responsible for the Mail division on the executive board.

As the German domestic business is well on track to meet the liberalisation challenges within the German mail market, the time is right to combine the two business units again and strengthen the group's cross-border mail opportunities via strong links with domestic mail.

Bruce Edwards, who was previously responsible for the Supply Chain business as Global CEO, will assume additional responsibility for Corporate Information Solutions (Williams Lea), as both businesses focus on delivering customised solutions.

Hermann Ude, CEO Freight, will now run the Global Forwarding & Freight business.

Global functions within Logistics will now report to both Edwards and Ude.
